Vjapayee’s ashes immersed in Godavari

Bharatiya Janata Party State president K. Laxman immersed the ashes of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the river Godavari at Kandakurthi on Monday. Earlier, for the glimpse of the public the vessel containing the ashes was placed at the Gandhi Chowk for a few minutes. Many people irrespective of the religious faiths paid floral tributes to Vajpayee and observed a two-minute silence. Mr. Laxman brought the ashes in a specially arranged vehicle from Hyderabad. Among those who attended the ceremony included the State general secretary G. Premender Reddy, former MLA Y. Laxminarayana, leaders D. Suryanarayana, and D. Aravind.
