The Intensive Household Survey conducted in the State on Tuesday had cast a shadow on the turnout of devotees at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada in the district.

Every year, the auspicious Shravan month witnessed a heavy surge of pilgrims at the temple. But today, it had absolutely no devotees as people confined themselves to their houses to take part in the survey. Even farmers and those from rural areas who frequently visit the ‘Rajanna’ temple decided to stay back at home on Tuesday.

The hustle bustle around the temple was clearly missing with shops and other establishments downing their shutters for the survey.
