Vemulawada devasthanam proposes Rs.410-crore works

Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district has proposed developmental works to the tune of Rs.410 crore following assurances given by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during his visit to the temple shrine four month ago.

The authorities plan to acquire land at a cost of Rs.80 crore for the temple shrine, and expand the temple tank. It was proposed to modernise the temple tank as mini-tank bund at a cost of Rs.26.50 crore. It was decided to modernise the existing Dharmagundam at a cost of Rs. 5 crore. Additional Prakaram, Nitya Kalyana Mandapam, Abhisheka Mandapam are to come up at a cost of Rs. 25 crore. Also planned to be constructed are additional choultries and rooms; gardens and children parks are to come up at a cost of Rs. 75 crore. The queue complexes would be modernised with Rs. 28 crore, and road widening works are estimated to cost Rs.s 43 crore.

The adjacent Sri Laxminarasimha Swamy Devasthanam at Nampally hillocks would be developed at a cost of Rs. 29.50 crore. Official sources said the project report would be submitted to the Chief Minister for allocation of funds for the development of the ancient temple shrine.
