In a development that could embarrass the district administration, farmers of Vemulaghat have urged the Revenue Divisional Officer A. Muthyam Reddy, who is also Land Acquisition Special officer, to furnish the details of the Grama Sabha report to them at the earliest.

Farmers from the village arrived here and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

‘Give us time’

“Grama Sabha was conducted in our village as per the directions of the High Court. You have promised to give us the details of the discussion — the doubts expressed by the farmers and clarification given by officials — in writing in Telugu. But the details were not furnished to us so far. Similarly, the project details which we asked in writing were also not furnished to us. We request you to provide those details and give us ample time to submit our doubts further,” the villagers said in the memorandum which was signed by as many as 11 persons.

In a related development, Md. Hayatuddin, a farmer from Vemulaghat village, has submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer of Kaleswaram Project, to stop the construction activity immediately stating that still some activity has been taking place which amounts to violation of orders issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

‘Gross violation’

Informing that he filed a case before NGT, Mr. Hayatuddin stated that gross violation has been taking place under Kaleswaram project and it would amount to criminal contempt and is punishable under NGT Act.

He has also submitted the copy of NGT order.
