Md. Hayatuddin, a farmer of Vemulaghat village in Toguta mandal of Siddipet district, wrote a letter to Collector stating that information provided to him does not mean that the same was furnished to all the land oustees and it need to be furnished to all the oustees.

Vemulaghat is one of the villages that would get submerged in Mallannasagar reservoir and some of the villagers were demanding implementation of the Right to Fair Compensation in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act – 2013.

The villagers — as many as 1406 including Mr. Hayatuddin — asked the authorities on December 31, 2017, to supply project map, supply of detailed project report (DPR), environment permission, forest permission, Central Water Commission (CWC) permission and minutes of grama sabha in Telugu.

Responding to this, the Special Deputy Collector said that the authorities had heard objections of the villagers on January 31st and February 1st and copies of DPR, environment permission, forest permission, CWC permission and minutes copy in Telugu. The orders issued on May 4th, 2018, stated that all the objections were disposed off. “I have not been provided with complete information as mentioned by you. Providing information to me does not mean that the information was provided to all 1,406 persons. You have to provide information to all those who sought information. We have received notices till January 25th regarding inquiry and the hearing itself was postponed by the official as we objected that we need sufficient time to go through the copies of DPR and other details,” Mr. Hayatuddin wrote in his letter to the Collector.

“I was supplied with the copies of forest permission and environment permission in Telugu. But all the details sought by us were not supplied. The authorities have to supply copies to all not just me,” Mr. Hayatuddin told The Hindu .
