Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has claimed that unemployment rate has doubled ever since TRS party came to power in Telangana State in 2014.

In a live interaction with Congress workers on social media platforms, Mr. Reddy said that nearly 12 lakh youth in Telangana were jobless in 2014 but after five years of TRS rule it has doubled to 24 lakhs, he said quoting official figures.

He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has completely neglected the problem of unemployment though it was one of the major issues in the Statehood movement. Instead of providing one job for each family as claimed by KCR during the movement lakhs of existing jobs were lost under his rule.

Skill development

He said he had ensured that local youth get jobs in cement and other factories in Huzurnagar and promised that he would establish a skill development centre of international standards in Huzurnagar to impart training to local youth. He said the proposed centre would be established in the next five years from his funds as Member of Parliament.

The TPCC president also promised that a sports stadium would be established in Huzurnagar to promote sports activities among youth and national level Kabaddi competitions would be organised in Huzurnagar soon.

Mr. Reddy ridiculed the promises being made by TRS leaders of bringing development in Huzurnagar if TRS wins the seat.

He pointed out that several TRS MLAs went on record in the Assembly complaining of lack of funds to develop their constituencies and here they are promising development. “What are they doing in the constituency where the MLAs belong to the TRS,” he asked.

In fact, more development was witnessed in constituencies represented by opposition MLAs as they question the government unlike the TRS MLAs who don’t have the courage to ask for funds from the government. “People will not believe their false propaganda,” he said.
