Adilabad and Mancherial district presidents of the Telangana Telugu Desam Party - Soyam Bapu Rao and Boda Janardhan - will join the Congress along with TTDP State president A. Revanth Reddy in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Also joining will be the party leader from Sirpur Assembly constituency Ravi Srinivas who unsuccessfully contested last election from the constituency.

The exit of the senior leaders will effectively finish off the Telangana TDP units in Adilabad, Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

Nirmal not affected

The party unit at Nirmal district will not be affected as the president of this fourth constituent of undivided Adilabad district, Lola Shamsunder, has no plans to quit.

Bapu Rao is former MLA from Boath Assembly constituency in Adilabad district. He was elected on a TRS ticket in 2004 and lost the 2014 election which he had contested on a TDP ticket.

Four-time MLA

Boda Janardhan is a four-time TDP MLA from Chennur (SC) Assembly constituency.

He lost the 2014 election following which he joined the YSR Congress and the Congress before returning to the TTDP.

The threesome will form part of the 30-member group which will join the Congress.

They flew to New Delhi on Monday evening to meet AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
