Two pilgrims killed

Two women were killed and three others were injured when the car in which they were travelling lost control and hit a tree at Nasthurpalli village of Kataram mandal on Friday. They were going to Kaleshwaram temple to take part in Pushkaralu.

The police said that the victims hailed from Laxminagar B. Camp in Kurnool. They were coming from Hyderabad.

Amarachinta Venkataramana, a realtor, was driving the car and the mishap occurred when he tried to overtake a vehicle and lost control.

Amarachinta Latchamma (70) and Ramapuram Davalamma (75) died on the spot. Amarachinta Padmaja sustained serious injuries and her condition is stated to be critical. Venkataramana and another person sustained injuries. They were being treated at Mahadevpur area hospital and will be shifted to Warangal MGM Hospital.
