In a hit-and-run case, two middle-aged persons were killed and a youth was critically injured when the motorbike they were riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle from the rear side at Kannaigudem village in Aswaraopet mandal on Wednesday evening.
The deceased Satti Reddy, 49, and Sammi Reddy, 55, were from Kotha Kannaigudem village in the same mandal. Pandu Reddy, 17, who was also riding pillion, suffered serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to a hospital in Khammam with bleeding injuries. His condition was stated to be serious, sources added.
Local police suspect over-speeding to be the cause of the road mishap. Aswaraopet police have launched an investigation to identify the vehicle involved in the hit and run accident.
Abbaiah, circle inspector of police, Aswaraopet, visited the accident site and conducted preliminary inquiry into the incident.
