June 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - KHAMMAM:

Two tribal boys, both aged seven years, drowned in a pond at a tribal hamlet under Ulvanuru gram panchayat in Palvancha mandal on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Chandu and Charan Teja of Kothagumpu tribal hamlet.

Sources said that the duo allegedly ventured into the pond after playing around an agriculture field late in the afternoon.

Unaware of the depth of the pond, they tried to take a bath and subsequently drowned, sources added.

This is the second drowning incident involving children in the district in a span of one week.

Two tribal girls aged 9 and 10 years met a watery grave after falling in a pit in Tekulapalli mandal exactly one week ago.
