The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the victory of its trade union Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TGBKS) in the recognised trade union elections of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) spread over six districts of north Telangana region.
Considering the trade union elections as pre-final for the ensuing general elections, the TRS State leadership has taken up the union polls as a prestigious one and roped in all the party legislators, MPs of the region to intensify the electioneering and ensure that the TGBKS wins the polls with thumping majority. The Singareni collieries are spread spread over Peddapalli, Mancherial, Khumaram Bheem, Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli, Kothagudem and Asifabad districts covering 11 Assembly constituencies.
Out of the 11 constituencies, the TRS legislators represent 10 of them. As Bhupalapalli legislator S. Madhusudhana Chary, who represents Bhupalapalli division, is Speaker of the Assembly, he was relieved of the election duties. Remaining legislators were working round-the-clock in their respective Singareni divisions for the success of the TGBKS in the elections. The legislators of the respective regions were rigorously campaigning at the mines by conducting gate-meetings and explaining the achievements of the TRS Government to the coal workers.
On the other hand, Peddapalli MP Balka Suman is overseeing the campaign strategies in the Srirampur division, Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is supervising Kothagudem division, Warangal MP P. Dayakar is looking after Bhupalapalli division and Mahabubad MP Seetharam Naik, Munuguru division. Above all, TGBKS honorary president and Nizamabad MP Kavitha is giving campaign strategies to the party leaders and union leaders from Hyderabad and encouraging the joining of other trade union leaders in the TGBKS.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender, Government Advisor G. Vivekanand, State Government representative in New Delhi S. Venugopala Chary and other party functionaries and heads of various corporations were also campaigning.
Though the contesting trade unions have been raising several issues in the electioneering, the revival of the dependent employment scheme is dominating. The TGBKS had been reiterating that the ruling TRS alone would ensure its revival.
