There was mild commotion near the Kacheguda railway station when two MMTS trains arrived on the same railway line, albeit at some distance away on Wednesday afternoon.

Although there was considerable gap between the trains, initial reaction from eye-witnesses was that of some signal fault.

However, SCR officials quickly squashed such information and asserted that the automatic block signalling section allowed two trains to stop on the same line within specific marginal distance because all the platforms of the station were occupied.

Train No. 47183 (Lingampalli - Falaknuma) MMTS left Secunderabad at 15:32 hours and arrived at Kacheguda ‘home signal’ at 15:48 hours. Soon, Train No. 47184 (Lingampalli - Falaknuma) MMTS left Secunderabad at 15:40 hours and arrived at Vidyanagar at 15:55 hours.

These two MMTS trains were stopped, awaiting signal, as platform number 2 in Kacheguda had Train No. 57305 (Kacheguda - Guntur) Passenger, platform number three had Train No. 17652 (Kacheguda – Chennai Egmore) Express and on platform number 4 was Train No. 16353 (Kacheguda – Nagercoil Junction) Express.

Once the Nagercoil Junction Express left, Train No. 47183 (first one to be stopped) was received at Kacheguda at 16:22 hours after getting clearance of platform.

On departure of this MMTS train, at 16:23 hrs, the second MMTS was received on platform at Kacheguda at 16:28 hours, they added.
