In a tragic incident, four members of a family drowned in Peddacheruvu tank at Gagillapur village in Maddur mandal here on Friday.
They were all residents of Ramanthapur, in Hyderabad. They came to Maddur to celebrate Dasara with their relatives.
They were identified as Madan (14), Yanagandhula Pochayya (40), Praveen (17) and Vaddula Narsimhulu (41). The family members said that they went to take bath in the tank this morning and did not return. None of them knew how to swim. After searching the lake, the villagers retrieved the bodies of all the four. Police registered a case and are investigating.
