‘Three cases in Telangana against TVV activists’

Commissioner of Police V. B. Kamalasan Reddy said there were three cases in Telangana and one case in Chhattisgarh against TVV activists

Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he said the Chhattisgarh police had registered a case against TVV leader Nazir and others at Kunta police station with crime number 9/2016 under Public Security Act when they went to meet the Maoists in 2016. Similarly, the police had registered cases against TVV leader Makala Mahesh and Telangana Youth Federation leader Bharath at the Kethepalli police station of Nalgonda district for trying to admit some persons into the Maoist organisation. During the period, the police recovered naxalite literature and registered cases (crime number 145/2017). He said cases were registered on the same allegations at the Punjagutta police station (crime number 68/2018) and CCS police station (184/2018). He said they had credible information that the TVV was working as Maoists’ cover and participating in anti-government activities. They were conducting thorough inquiry into the Satavahana University students’ educational tour and the role of the teaching faculty.
