Former MP Vijayashanthi asks people to vote for Congress

Former MP and Telangana Congress Campaign Committee chairperson Vijayashanthi lambasted Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao blaming him for the ‘feudal’ rule in the State, and said people did not fight for a separate State to get a governance of this sort.

Ms. Vijayashanti, who participated in road shows in support of Secunderabad Parliament Congress candidate Anjan Kumar Yadav at Chappal Bazar and Ramnagar, asked when KCR claims that he got Telangana with just two MPs why doesn’t he say who the second MP was.

She said those who fought for Telangana were ignored while Telangana betrayers were now in the governance at the cost of martyrs. Stating that the Lok Sabha election was a fight between the BJP and the Congress, she said TRS has little role now and people should realise this while voting.

She alleged that corruption has peaked in Telangana with one family calling the shots rather than a system ruling the State. It is our duty to teach a lesson to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao reminding him that people fought for a democratic Telangana where everyone’s view was respected.

State’s inefficiency

The yesteryears queen of Telugu cinema also lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for neglecting Telangana in all aspects and blamed the ‘inefficiency’ of the State government in not achieving what was promised in A.P. Reorganisation Act.

Connecting with the large crowds at several centres, she alleged that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao will go with Mr. Modi after the elections and compromise the State’s interests for his personal benefits. Together they are cheating people of Telangana, she claimed. Mr. Rahul Gandhi will be the next Prime Minister as Congress will come back to power and Telangana will get what it deserves as Congress doesn’t discriminate between States, she said.

Introducing Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav, she said he was a sincere party worker who was blessed twice by the people of Secunderabad and he should get another opportunity. Unlike his opponents, he was always with the people and a healthy democracy needs such representatives, she said seeking votes for him.
