TDP conducted a host of programmes, including charity and cultural events marking the 19th death anniversary of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao across the district on Sunday.

Several cultural performances based on the mythological characters donned by NTR in movies were organised at different parts of the district. The frontal organisations organised cultural programmes at Penuballi, Khammam and other places to revitalise the party in the district. The party district office in the town came alive with the party senior leaders and cadres thronging the office to participate in a meeting held in connection with the death anniversary of N.T. Rama Rao. The speakers vowed to revive the glory of the party undeterred by the exodus of several party leaders to the TRS. Poor feeding programmes, blood donation camps, and motorcycle rallies were organised.

Nizamabad Special Correspondent adds: TDP cadres garlanded his statues and portraits at various places. The MLC and party district president Arkala Narsa Reddy garlanded the NTR statue here and led the party cadres in paying homage to him. A two-minute silence was observed in the respect of the late leader. Fruits and slices of bread were distributed to patients here and in Beerkur and Varni mandal headquarters.

Karimnagar Special Correspondent adds: Speaking on the occasion, TDP district president Ch. Vijayaramana Rao said that the TDP founder had bought several reforms in the State politics by abolishing Patwari system. TDP Town president Agaiah demanded the government to confer Bharat Ratna to NTR. Leaders participated in the distribution of fruits to the inmates of old-age homes.
