TDP MLA Veeraiah seeks time to appear before the ACB

June 19, 2015 03:11 pm | Updated 03:11 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLA S. Venkata Veeraiah has expressed his inability to visit the office of the Anti-Corruption Bureau citing health reasons. The ACB officials served notice on Mr. Venkata Veeraiah along with TDP’s MLC nominee Vem Narender Reddy, asking him to appear for questioning in the cash for vote episode.

As Mr. Venkata Veeraiah was not available, the officials pasted the notice on the door of his residence asking him to appear before them on or before Friday.

Mr. Veeraiah, in a letter addressed to the ACB SP Malla Reddy, said that he could not visit the ACB office as he was undergoing treatment for severe back pain and sprained leg. He was under the supervision of the doctors in a hospital and was advised bed rest for 10 days.

Asserting that he would extend full cooperation to the ACB in its investigation, Mr. Veeraiah said that he would attend the inquiry once he recovered fully. He offered to give whatever information he had if the ACB officials visited the hospital in which he was admitted.
