Telugu Desam Party polit bureau member Ramesh Rathod and spokesman Yunus Akbani justified their crossing over to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti stating on Sunday that they were won over by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s efforts.

The duo enlisted programmes like Mission Bhageeratha, Mission Kakatiya, Kalyan Laxmi, 12% reservation for minorities amongst others that attracted them, and as they explained the State Government’s interest in the well-being of the common man.

At a press conference here, Mr. Rathod said that they had set no condition for joining the TRS. “We will abide by whatever KCR wants us to do,” they asserted.

The TDP leaders said that the Chief Minister had promised them of providing justice to non-tribals living in agency areas of undivided Adilabad without harming the interests of Adivasis. They did not specify as to what exactly this meant.

The joining will take place at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday. “Our supporters will arrive in Hyderabad in 2,000 vehicles including jeeps, cars and buses,” they added.
