When people passing through narrow pathways leading to Gouravelli, Abdullapurmet mandal, were asked directions to the village, they asked, “Are you going to Suresh’s home?” and gave the directions.
People in the quaint village gathered around K Suresh’s home to hear what his family members had to say about the gruesome incident where the woman tahsildar, Ch. Vijaya Reddy, was set on fire.
Standing outside single floor modest home, Suresh’s father K. Krishna folded his hands against fore head and prayed out loud, “I don’t know how he will come out of this. I have only one son.”
His family members said that though they are dealing with a land dispute, the case is in court and the Tahsildar office cannot do anything about it. A total of 37 families are struggling to get 130 acres of land in Bacharam village in their names. “The land was in their names from 1998 to 2016. There after, though we did not sell it, it was transferred to names of seven people who sold it. We are dealing with it in the High Court. Suresh (around 35 years of age) did not get involved in it. In fact, he does not even know about his share of land. He never went to the MRO office for this work, said K Durgaiah, Suresh’s uncle.
Mr. Krishna said that his son was into real estate business.
“We did not even know that he went to the MRO office. It was only after the police called me did I come to know about the incident. We are going to the OGH now,” he said on Monday evening. Suresh lived with his parents, wife, and two children.
