The Union Agriculture Ministry has asked the State government to upload the details of eligible farmers under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi by February 18 so that these names could be included in the programme slated to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24.
The Centre has announced the launch of the Kisan Samman Nidhi for augmenting the incomes of small and marginal farmers. Union Ministry Additional Secretary Vasudha Mishra reviewed the implementation of the scheme by the State government with senior officials here on Thursday. Agriculture Secretary C. Parthasarathi and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Ms. Vasudha Mishra expressed satisfaction over the progress made in the State claiming that Telangana already had robust data about farmers. The State was moving in the right direction making it easy for effective implementation of the scheme as designed. She wanted the officials concerned to expedite uploading maximum possible data so that the benefit could reach the farmers, according to an official release.
