Arrangements have been made to distribute little over 5,000 pairs of new clothes to poor Christians across the district in the next two days.

The Minorities Welfare Department has drawn up an action plan to distribute 1,000 pairs of new clothes in each constituency in coordination with the allied government departments as State Government's gift to poor Christians in connection with Christmas, sources said.

Collector R.V. Karnan has asked the departments concerned to expeditiously complete the distribution process as soon as possible in the entire district, well ahead of Christmas.

Christmas feasts have also been planned by the Minority Welfare Department as part of pre-Christmas fete celebrations in the next few days.
