Six held in theft case

The Godavarikhani sub-divisional police arrested a six-member gang and recovered 2.15 kg of gold, 30 kg of silver and Rs. 4 lakh in cash from their possession.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Monday, Superintendent of Police V. Shiva Kumar said that the burglars had decamped with the booty, which was stored in a locker in a jewellery shop in Centenary colony of Kamanpur mandal, on April 21. Based on a complaint filed by the shop owner Uppula Kanaka Chary, the Godavarikhani Two Town police registered a case and started investigation.

The accused are – Eluvaka Srinivas (35) of Adivarampet village in Manthani Mutharam mandal, Sk Kareem (45) and Vanaparthi Satheesh (28) of Sultanabad mandal, K. Srinivas (23) and Mylaram Anil (20) of Kamanpur mandal and M. Naresh of Manthani Mutharam mandal.
