Seven injured as bus collides with truck

Five passengers travelling from Hyderabad to Hanamkonda had a miraculous escape after a TSRTC bus collided with a truck here on Wednesday. The incident took place at Pembarthy village on the Hyderabad-Warangal road. The two drivers were seriously injured and five others suffered minor injuries. Local people rushed to rescue the passengers and alerted the local police.

The police immediately reached the spot and the injured persons were shifted to the Government Area Hospital in Janagama. The incident led to a traffic jam for over 2 km on the National Highway- 163.

According to the police, the TSRTC bus belonged to Bhupalpally depot and was being operated by a temporary driver in view of the ongoing strike by employees. Janagama town Inspector D Mallesh said that the TSRTC temporary bus driver, who was on the right side of the road, suddenly lost control and hit the truck coming in the opposite direction.

A case was registered under IPC Sections 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering the life of others) and 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) of the IPC against the RTC bus driver.
