With the summer vacation nearing completion, the pilgrims rush swelled at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district on Monday. Thousands of devotees from far-flung places arrived to the temple and offered prayers to the presiding deities by forming serpentine queues. There was heavy rush of pilgrims for the traditional ‘kode mokku’ (tying of ox) ritual at the temple.

Former Union Minister and actor Krishnam Raju’s wife, Uppalapati Shyamala, also offered prayers. She participated in the kode mokku ritual.
