Saw mill, timber depot operators warned

Adilabad Superintendent of Police Vishnu S. Warrier on Saturday warned saw mill and timber depot owners in the district of stringent action in case they flout forest laws. He said there were allegations that saw mill and timber depot owners were indulging in business involving illegally felled timber.

At a meeting with all the saw mill and timber depot owners here, the SP talked of various forest laws that they need to follow meticulously. He said violation of the laws will attract serious consequences for them.

Mr. Warrier also wanted them to maintain updated stock register with regard to transactions in timber business. DSP K. Narasimha Reddy, Forest Divisional Officer V. Chandra Shekhara Rao, One Town CI V. Suresh and Two Town CI K. Nagaraju were among those who attended the meeting.
