Sandalwood logs seized, four arrested

The police of Sadashivapet in Medak district seized 27 kg of sandalwood logs and Rs. 2 lakh cash in the wee hours of Tuesday. According to Sadashivapet Circle Inspector Srinivas Naidu, they came across a sandalwood transporting vehicle while doing routine checks at Vikarabad road. The sandalwood logs were being transported from Omraga in Maharashtra to Mominpet in Ranga Reddy district. The police arrested four persons – K. Sahshidhar, Md. Ashraf, Abdul Latif and Dinesh Pujari. A case was registered against them and they were sent to remand. The police seized Rs. 2 lakh cash, one goods transport vehicle, and three cell phones. – Staff Reporter
