Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha has said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme launched by the Telangana State government has become a role model for the country.
Participating in the Rythu Bandhu scheme in Ilapur village of Korutla mandal on Monday, she said that the State govt. was in the limelight for its welfare schemes and upliftment of all sections of society.
She said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme would be a continuous process for the benefit of the farming community.
She also said that parties in other States were including the welfare schemes of the Telangana in their election manifesto.
Korutla legislator K. Vidyasagar Rao, Markfed chairman Bapu Reddy, Collector A. Sharath and others were also present.
Ministers tour districts
Ministers in the State Cabinet and other important government functionaries on Monday hailed the government for implementing Rythu Bandhu scheme in the State aimed at benefitting the farming community. A whirlwind tour of erstwhile united Adilabad district took Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna and Farmers Coordination Committee State President Gutha Sukhender Reddy to Babapur village in Asifabad mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Ponnari in Adilabad district and Sarangapur in Nirmal district.
Others who participated in the cheque distribution programme included Adilabad MP G. Nagesh, Asifabad MLA Kova Laxmi, Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, Collectors of KB Asifabad, Prashant J. Patil, Agriculture Commissioner M. Jagan Mohan, Adilabad D. Divya and Nirmal M. Prashanthi.
All the speakers praised the Chief Minister for his initiative.
The Agriculture Minister said efforts were being made to extend insurance scheme to family members of farmers. He said insurance scheme for the farmers would be implemented from June onwards.
Mr. Mahmood Ali said the State government was spending ₹12,000 crore in two phases to bring relief to farmers through Rythu Bandhu. He said the pattadar passbook with 17 security features will help farmers in avoiding problems in future.
