Rs. 42 crore donated for Mission Kakatiya so far

Extolling generous contributions from donors to the ‘Mission Kakatiya’ programme, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said the Telangana government was determined to restore all water bodies to their original state with active support from all sections of people.

He was speaking at a meeting after formally launching Lingagudem tank restoration works at Kandukur in Vemsur mandal late on Sunday afternoon.

According to sources, the tank restoration work was taken up under Mission Kakatiya to stabilise the ayacut and strengthen the tank.

Referring to the generosity of the chairman of a major pharmaceutical company, who donated Rs. 4 crore for tank restoration works at Kandukur, Mr. Rao said people from various walks of life had voluntarily donated Rs. 42 crore for the Mission Kakatiya programme so far.

Minister for Roads & Buildings T. Nageswara Rao, Minister for Transport P. Mahender Reddy, Collector K. Ilambarithi and others were present.
