Rs. 30 crore sanctioned for Ghanapur anicut extension: Harish

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that Rs.30 crore would be sanctioned for the extension of Ghanapur anicut in Medak district in the next 10 days.

Participating in various development programmes held at Khajipally village in Medak mandal on Monday, Mr. Harish Rao said that this could be implemented in the next four years. Stating that cement lining works would be taken up to extend supply of irrigation till the tail-end, he said that Rs. 200 crore was sanctioned for improving power supply in the district by establishment of new transformers, poles and wires at required places.

Interest free loans

The Minister has also informed that Rs. 10 lakh worth interest free loans for self-help groups is being extended by the government in addition to paying of old arrears for blow 50 unit power bills consumed by SCs and STs.

Addressing a gathering after participating in Mission Kakatiya works at Allipur, he said that the works were taken up at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh and public should participate in the programme voluntarily and transport the silt removed from the tank.

Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy said that an all round development of Telangana was taken up by the government.
