June 30, 2014 10:07 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:22 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The three-member Experts Committee, with former Indian Administrative Service officer Sheila Bhide as Chairperson, that is looking into the de-merger of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation into two entities, following the State’s bifurcation is expected to file its report in a fortnight.

When contacted, a senior official said the corporation’s management had on its part, sent all the relevant proposals to Government. However, the de-merger would be firmed up only after the Committee submitted its report on the finer points, including the distribution of physical assets and human resources.

Meanwhile, for the second time within a week, the much-awaited meeting of the board of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation was postponed. Earlier, it was to be conducted on June 27, but was put off with less than 24 hours of notice and scheduled to be held on June 30.

But on Monday too, with barely four hours to go, it was announced that it would not be held. When asked, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of the corporation, J. Poornachandra Rao said the meeting could not be held as scheduled simply because some of the directors who were based out of Hyderabad were busy and could not take the time off to visit Hyderabad at short notice.
