Re-lay dug up roads soon

June 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST

Several roads have been dug up in the city and with the arrival of monsoon, these roads have turned a nightmare for commuters. And this is a recurring problem. The civic authorities do not re-lay the roads after digging them up. It seems that they are least bothered about motorists. The roads in and around Musheerabad have been in bad shape for months now. I request the GHMC to repair the damaged roads as soon as possible.

Set up a public toilet

The public toilet near Yousufguda check post was demolished due to the ongoing Metro Rail works. I request the civic body to set up the facility as part of the Swachh Hyderabad campaign.

Cover open manholes immediately

A number of manholes are left open in the city as their cast iron covers are either stolen or removed to carry out Metro Rail works. Motorists and pedestrians alike feel unsafe using these roads. To avoid accidents, it’s imperative for the GHMC to cover the manholes with concrete ones rather than the iron covers. Also, manhole covers are placed shoddily at many places which may prove fatal to motorists and pedestrians, especially during heavy downpours or at nights. The civic body should ensure that manholes are covered properly.
