Raja Singh not to take oath on day 1

Lone BJP MLA in the Telangana Legislative Assembly T. Raja Singh has announced that he would not be taking oath as MLA when the Assembly is convened next week in protest against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao making Majlis MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan the Pro-tem Speaker.

In a tweet, Mr. Singh, who got elected from Goshamahal constituency, has said he would not like to take oath from a Majlis representative as he claimed the party works against the majority community, supports Nizam rule, refuses to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ or say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

The BJP leader said while the Chief Minister has every right to take any decision which he deems fit, he should remember that the Majlis Party was against the formation of Telangana during the agitation. Mr. Singh said he would decide his future course of action after discussing with legal experts.
