The incessant rain that lashed parts of Telangana in the past few days have claimed three lives, according to officials.

Two deaths were reported from Suryapet district and one from Mancherial district. The Revenue (disaster management) Department had asked the district Collectors concerned to send proposals for payment of ₹5 lakh ex-gratia to the families of the deceased. The Collectors should ascertain whether the death was rain-related or otherwise and send reports to the department accordingly. Though one more death was reported from Khammam, officials did not receive proof that the death was rain-related and hence the compensation would be withheld.

The rain had damaged houses in different parts of Telangana. About 83 houses across the State, including 27 in Adilabad and 31 in Khammam, were fully damaged while the number of houses which suffered partial damage stood at 1,055 — 675 being in Adilabad.
