It was a pleasant surprise, as various parts of Karimnagar experienced unseasonal rains on Friday night.
Though, the sky remained overcast for most of the morning, the rains had come as a surprise to the people of the town on Friday after 8.30 p.m. There was heavy downpour forcing the motorists and other pedestrians to run for the shelter to protect themselves from the rain.
Areas flooded
The petty vendors on the footpaths were forced to run helter-skelter following the sudden rain and flood waters at the vegetable market area in the town.
On the other hand, the rains had damaged the arrangements made for the Republic Day celebrations at the Parade Grounds in Karimnagar town. The low-lying areas were inundated with the flood waters and the drains overflowed following the heavy rains in the town.
