The State government has instilled confidence among people by providing corporate-level treatment at government hospitals in Telangana, said Minister for Health C. Laxma Reddy on Monday.

He participated in the inauguration of a dialysis centre at the Government Headquarters Hospital, a wellness centre, three urban health centres and foundation stone laying ceremony for a 20-bed AYUSH hospital in Ramnagar locality here. He was joined by Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender, Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, local legislator G. Kamalakar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad and DMHO Dr Sujatha.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Reddy said providing quality medicare to poor patients was a priority for the government. Accordingly, an ICU centre, dialysis centre, lab, and mother and child care hospital have been opened in the town. Two more urban health centres would come up in Karimnagar soon, he said.

Mr. Rajender alleged that previous governments had accorded priority to only private hospitals and neglected the government sector hospitals. Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana said 8,900 health cards were issued to journalists, with 36,000 persons benefitting under the scheme.
