The State Government will provide all facilities in State-run schools and offer quality education on par with private schools, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.

Taking part in ‘Badi Baata’ (Back to school) programme at New Shayampet locality here on Thursday, he felicitated the students who scored good marks in the final exams and obtained a seat in the IIITs. The Badi Bata programme began on June 13 and is scheduled to conclude on June 20.

Mr. Srihari alleged that the previous governments failed to address the problems faced by the schools and there were no basic amenities. After the formation of Telangana, the Gvernment was focusing on education on priority by providing basic amenities, digital classrooms, introducing English medium teaching, and highly qualified teachers among others.

“A total of 510 Gurukul schools have been sanctioned in the State. Good education, comparable to corporate schools, can be provided only through the Gurukula schools. We are in the process of filling the vacancies in the state-run schools. In Warangal Urban District ₹ 22 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of additional classrooms. We are working towards making Warangal an education hub in the State,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.

District Collector Amrapali Kata exhorted students to read books to increase their knowledge in all fields. She asked them to read books irrespective of in which class they studied. She asked the parents to inculcate the habit among children of planting saplings every year.

Warangal West MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar, MP P. Dayakar, DEO Srinivasa Chary and others were present.
