All the irrigation projects in Adilabad are near full and water is being discharged from some of them on Monday owing to the continuous rainfall in the district. Crest gates were opened at Kumram Bheem project to release over 20,000 cusecs of water and consequently, the Peddavagu stream is in spate.

The level of water in the huge reservoir of the major irrigation project, Kadem, is rising significantly and it is pegged at 690 ft. The inflows recorded here is 8,000 cusecs as there was heavy rainfall in the catchment area during the last two days.

The rainfall recorded so far in the season is almost double the normal for the period starting June 1. Against a normal of about 14 cm., the rainfall recorded was about 28 cm with only 6 of the 52 mandals receiving rains in deficit.

The hill streams as usual ran flooded, disturbing flow of traffic in Vemanpalli, Chennur and Bejjur mandals. The Gollavagu and Neelvaivagu were flooded, cutting off about 25 villages from the rest of the mandal in Vemanpalli.
