Praja Chaitanya yatra draws good crowd in Warangal

TPCC chief names candidates in some constituencies

The Praja Chaityanya bus yatra by Telagnana PCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has achieved much more than the party expected – boosted the morale of the cadre and patched the internal bickering as well.

Mr. Reddy succeeded which no other leader could do in the recent past by sending his message clear and loud that only those who work for the party would get tickets and not just by seniority. For instance at Hanamkonda, he indicated that DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy would be the candidate for the next election and none else.

Senior leader Errabelli Swarna, who lost the election last time, sulked right from the beginning of the yatra in district but however she attended the public meeting held at KDC Grounds organised by Mr. Rajender Reddy.

Former MLA Vem Narender Reddy who quit TDP to join the party was also aspiring for ticket from this constituency. Surprisingly senior leaders V. Hanumantha Rao and Sarve Satyanarayana openly urged the TPCC chief to consider Rajender Reddy as candidate of the party in next Assembly elections from Warangal West.

Similarly, the TPCC chief openly supported candidature of D. Madhava Reddy at Narasampet and G.V. Ramana Reddy from Bhupalpally. At Dornakal, the party is likely to consider the candidature of Jatothu Ramachandru Naik, a doctor by profession who lost the election on TDP ticket last time.

However, at Mahabubabad, Mr. Uttam Kumar did not announce any name as there were too many candidates in race for party ticket. He openly said former MP Porika Balram Naik would be candidate for the Mahabubabad Parliament seat.

Unlike in the past, those who differed with the leadership or expecting tickets did not raise any voice of dissent or resort to cheap tricks like instigating their supporters for creating nuisance indicating the growing strength of Mr. Reddy within the party. Senior leaders were all aware that he had close rapport with AICC president Rahul Gandhi.

His bus yathra evoked good response with impressive crowds attending the meetings in all the constituencies in the erstwhile undivided Warangal district. The meeting at Palakurthy, Hanamkonda and Mahabubabad witnessed public attendance more than the party expected thus leaving the leadership in upbeat mood.

Mr. Sarve Satyanarayana and V. Hanumantha Rao openly said the Congress leaders were united and their target was to form government in Telangana as a gift to Sonia Gandhi for favouring formation of Telangana.
