Platform ticket to be dearer for Sankranti

SCR hikes it to ₹20 from ₹10 at Secunderabad, Hyderabad stations

The South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to temporarily increase the rate of platform ticket by ₹10 at Secunderabad and Hyderabad railway stations. This will be done in view of heavy rush of accompanying non-travellers during the Sankranti season.

To regulate public flow

An SCR press release on Friday said that in order to regulate the flow of public onto the platforms and to avoid inconvenience to bonafide passengers during the ensuing festive season, the cost of platform ticket at Secunderabad and Hyderabad railway stations will be enhanced from the present ₹10 to ₹20 for a period of nine days — between January 10 and 17.

Meanwhile, SCR has revised the timings of the Secunderabad-Bidar Intercity Express (17010) from January 2.

The train will now depart from Secunderabad at 6.25 p.m. instead of 7.15 p.m. and arrive at Bidar at 9.55 p.m. There will no change in the timings in the return direction (17009).

DEMU trains cancelled

Due to operational reasons, 22 DEMU train services are cancelled on Secunderabad-Falaknuma- Umdanagar section and Secunderabad-Bolarum-Medchal-Manoharabad sections from January 1 to March 31, 2019.
