Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was only shedding crocodile tears for the problems of farming community, CPI district secretary K Ramgopal Reddy said.
Speaking at All India Kisan Sabha Karimnagar district unit meeting in Karimnagar town on Tuesday, he launched a scathing attack against the TRS government for denying the minimum support price (MSP) to the chilli farmers and registering criminal cases against the farmers. He also expressed doubts over the implementation of handing over ₹4,000 per acre financial assistance to the farmers from the kharif season as the government had failed to waive crop loans at one-time.
He demanded the government provide MSP to the farmers produce at all the marketyards, he threatened to launch agitational programmes in the district. AIKS district president Ande Swamy, general secretary P. Kedari and others were present.
