Expressing their gratitude, students of Government Junior College for Boys and Girls Junior College offered ‘palabhishekam’ to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Education Minister Kadiam Sarihari for offering free education and books to them.
Participating in the programme, MLC Ramulu Naik said that about 1.2 lakh students studying in about 400 government junior colleges would benefit from the decision.
He said that it would cost the State government about Rs. 15 crore per annum.
A sum of Rs. 5 lakh was also announced for college development.
