Official Ugadi fete to be held at Janahita hall in Pragati Bhavan

The officials celebration of Telugu New Year (Ugadi) – Shubhakrut Nama Samvatsaram – would be held in the Janahita hall of Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence-cum-camp office of the Chief Minister, on April 2.

A review meeting on the official celebration of Telugu New Year was held at BRK Bhavan, the makeshift Secretariat, by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday. Special Chief Secretaries Adhar Sinha and Arvind Kumar, City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, Additional DG Anil Kumar, Managing Director of Water Board M. Dana Kishore, GHMC Commissioner D.S. Lokesh Kumar and other officials participated in the meeting.

The Chief Secretary stated that the event would commence at 10.30 a.m. with Vedic blessings and B. Santosh Kumar Sharma would do the traditional almanac reading. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would give a message after presenting mementoes to the vedic scholars. At 6.30 p.m., a ‘kavi sammelanam’ would be held at Ravindra Bharathi.
