The State government will not increase the property taxes in the villages which were merged into the municipalities in the State for another three years, said Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K. Taraka Rama Rao.
Disbursing the Rythu Bima (insurance bonds) to farmers in Chandrampeta village on the outskirts of Sircilla textile town on Friday, he assured that the property taxes in the villages which were merged with municipalities will not be increased for three years and added that they would provide all amenities such as roads, drains, water and other facilities on par with municipalities.
He claimed that the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes were first of its kind in the country since independence. He also said that Telangana was the only State in the country to provide 24x7 power supply to the farmers and become surplus power State following the visionary policies of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Listing out the welfare schemes launched by the government for the benefit of farming community, he said that the government had decided to invoke PD Act against the persons involved in the supply of spurious and fake seeds. He said that the godown’s storage capacity had increased from 4 lakh tonnes to 24 lakh tonnes in the state.
He also said that the Telangana was the only State to provide 42 lakh pensions worth ₹5,600 per annum.. He said the government had also helped the powerloom weavers increase their wages to ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month.
TSCAB chairman K. Ravinder Rao, Collector D Krishna Bhaskar were also present.
