Fire breaks out in train

October 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - WARANGAL:

A fire broke out in a compartment in New Delhi-Chennai train late on Tuesday night near Mahabubabad station here. Passengers who noticed the fire tried to extinguish it, but in vain. The railway police too joined them later and could put off the fire. The compartment was detached from the train at Mahabubabad station to facilitate the train to continue its journey.

On Wednesday, South Central Railway Divisional Railway Manager Ashish Agarwal, with a team of officials, visited Mahabubabad railway station and inspected the compartment in which the fire accident had taken place. “The primary investigation show that short circuit was the cause. Further investigation will be done and a report will be submitted in one or two days,” he said.
