May 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

The administration is all set to celebrate the Telangana State Formation Day in a grand manner way across the district from June 1 night. Collector D. Ronald Ross appealed to poets, writers, artistes, non-governmental organisations, employees, officials, elected representatives and people to take part in the celebrations.

He held a review with RDOs, Municipal Commissioners, Tahsildars and MPDOs on the celebrations and the arrangements to be made. He asked them to illuminate all Government offices on the night of June 1 and burst crackers after midnight on that day marking the State formation. He also suggested them to celebrate the occasion in an unprecedented manner.

Mr. Ross said that all offices should be whitewashed and Swachh Bharat be carried out in the surroundings. On the following day national flag would be unfurled from the gram panchayat office to Collectorate. Floral tributes would be paid to Telangana martyrs and noted personalities who rendered notable service in their respective fields be honoured with cash awards.

Mandal-level committees would be constituted to identify at least three persons in each field for giving away the awards. Authorities should chalk out action plans at mandal level and organize one special programme everyday, he said and asked the authorities to celebrate the State formation week on the lines of national festivals.
