NIT, NFTDC ink MoU for joint M.Tech course

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) here and Non Ferrous Materials Technology Development Centre (NFTDC), Hyderabad, have entered into an agreement for offering a joint M.Tech program in Materials and Systems Engineering Design.

NIT director N.V. Ramana Rao said the MoU will be valid for five batches of M.Tech course and for six years for Ph.D program. Some of the subjects in the M.Tech course will be taught by the scientists/ engineers of NFTDC while laboratory courses will be conducted at the state-of-the-art facilities available at the Hyderabad institution.

The M.Tech students will do their second year dissertation work on live problems at NFTDC. On completion of the course, some of the students will be absorbed there as engineers.

The MoU was signed between NIT director and K. Balasubramanian, scientist and director of NFTDC.
