TRS corporators Nannapuneni Narender and Kwaja Sirajuddin were elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation here on Tuesday.

The newly-elected corporators took oath at the GWMC office in the presence of the presiding officer and In-Charge Collector Patil Prashanth Jeevan and GWMC Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari held a meeting with all the elected TRS corporators at Haritha Hotel where he exhorted them to work hard. He wanted them to do away with corrupt practices and save party’s image as well as their political career. “There is no dearth of funds as the Chief Minister has decided to allocate Rs. 300 crore every year for the development of Warangal district,” he said .
