Local MLC T. Santosh Kumar, along with leading businessman of the district like Kesarimal Karwa, on Sunday released a book titled “Chukka Reddy – his stories and writings”, which is a compilation of stories penned by eminent writer and social activist K Chukka Reddy.
The book release coincided with his first death anniversary.
On the occasion, the services of Chukka Reddy as editor of Navatha magazine and as social activist were remembered.
Chukka Reddy, who was also the founder of the Sushruta Charitable Cancer Hospital here, died following a battle with cancer.
Former legislator K. Devender Rao, Telangana Development Forum president D.P. Reddy, Chukka Reddy’s son and advocate K. Shailendra Kumar were among some of the guests who paid tributes to the late social activist and writer on the occasion.
The guests announced that memorial lectures would be conducted on his death anniversary next year onwards.
