Former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy has demanded that MLA Chinta Prabhakar must answer for the water scarcity in the district headquarters.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy said that Mr. Prabhakar and other ruling party leaders have failed to arrest the diversion of Singoor water to Sri Ram Sagar Project and it took place at the cost of Sangareddy and Medak district. “The leaders of ruling party leaders are trying to be in the good books of Chief Minister KCR and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, which is why they had not opposed diversion of Singoor water to SRSP. Now there was scarcity for not only irrigation but also for drinking water. For the past few days there was no regular water supply in the town,” alleged Mr. Reddy, adding that water was diverted despite objections by the Opposition.
