Missing auto driver remains untraced in Khammam

An autorickshaw driver, who reportedly went missing from Gisarelli forest area in Charla mandal, located close to the strife-ridden areas along the inter-State border with Chhattisgarh on Sunday, remained untraced till Monday afternoon.

K. Satish, 30, an autorickshaw driver of Anjanapuram in Charla mandal of Bhadrachalam Division in Khammam District, disappeared without trace from the volatile Gisarelli forest area late on Sunday afternoon. He is suspected to have been kidnapped by Maoists, sources said.

According to sources, Satish had gone to Gisarelli to ferry tribal people from the remote forest fringe villages to the weekly market (Shandy) in the mandal headquarters in his autorickshaw on Sunday afternoon.

He reportedly went missing near Gisarelli late in the afternoon. His autorickshaw was found abandoned at Pagidivagu, sources added. However, no complaint has so far been lodged in this regard with the local police, sources said.
